Default lt1 MAF position (turbo set up)

Hi i was reading that it is better to install it before turbo. but my turbo inlet is 4" so its going to be a restriction. So i was wondering if i could install it on pressure side, right where it would go stock? Do i need to get different maf for that or should i stay with stock? Oh yeah i will be running stock 95 pcm.
Thanks

I left mine in stock location.

That said I max out the MAF so I went to Speed Density and only use it to meter Methanol injection. I would guess you will max out the MAF if you run >7 psi so you will likely end up speed density so it won't matter then.

If you don't tune your own I would leave it out and get a Speed Density tune.

Good luck

Would switching to an LS1 MAF work?

I just ask because I'm looking at the one off my 93 caprice and one of my 2000 Firebird and the plugs are identical. Of course the LS1 would have much less restriction on the LT1 due to it's larger size.

i really wouldnt worry about the retriction as much as i would an accurate reading. the chances of you maxing out the maf before it really becomes a restriction is more likely.
i would leave the maf as close to the stock location.

Ironed headed LT1s use a 3" MAF buy a used LT1 F Body MAF it is 3.5" and it is easy to tune simply take the MAF tables from a Camaro tune and it will increase the ability to measure AFGS from ~334 to 471.

I am not familiar with 93 Caprice but I know the Aluminum headed Lt1 MAF works and they are cheap. No do not buy a Granetelli (sp)

Good luck
