Default headers too big for blower car?

im keepin a eye out for some 1 7/8 headers but seen some 1 7/8 stepped to 2" headers. Would thoes be too big ran through a x-pipe? I know they would be too big unless you have big cubes but what about a blower motor?

I've looked a lot into this and all I've seen so far point to no lol. I looked at a blower car picking up 40+ wheel through a cutout. I'm pretty sure they will be fine. Better flow= more power lol

Bang. Do it.

I've seen your car a bunch, but don't remember which head you've got? D1? You most likely won't need the stepped kooks unless you're F1r+. But the sound...

i've always been told, anything after the downpipe (not relevant to this setup, but you get the idea) is a restriction.

i would have to assume the same for you.

If you have any intention of stepping up to a bigger motor or bigger blower in the future and you can get these headers at a good price right now I say go for it. I have 2" ARH's on my car.

I've talked with Nick at ARH as well as Tony at AFR. Max effort 408, F1-R... Neither of them suggested a stepped header unless I was going to squeeze the motor on a regular basis.

I always used 1 7/8 with no issues, if I could get a deal on 1 7/8 x 2 stepped I would use them. I think the 3.5" collector would help as well, I only had 3" but I wanted to try 3.5"

They should work damn good. I gained 70rwhp with just opening my cutout through 1 3/4 Pacesetters. I wish I would have gone with a bigger header. I still might one day

I'm running stepped kooks to 2" with the 3.5" collector. I dont have any dyno results for my setup yet, but I've always heard the bigger the better. Definately wont hurt you. Also you can buy full2" kooks for a lot cheaper than the stepped version. If anyone is looking to buy new..

Oh yeah. I would get that magnaflow collector for your Y-pipe and do a cut out right after. Im about to switch mine over to that.
