Default Lt1 turbo build. Does 383... reusing forged....2 bar sensor

I am planning a turbo engine build. But got some questions. I plan on going past 15lbs of boost and am curious if a 383 engine will boost faster compared to a 355 causing you not to have to go as high in rpms? The reason I ask is if I use the stock pcm, I know I'm not suppose to go past 7,000rpms because the tuning is supposedly a guessing game after that.

Also I already have forged internals with my 355? So if I was to decide to reuse my 355 and change to low compression pistons. Can an engine builder really tell if my forged rods and crank are fine? Or do I definantly need to get new ones? They have 25000 miles on them and I have only about 15 track passes and I have never street raced.

Also I'm pretty sure I am suppose to go speed density. I have a 96 LT1 pcm where do I get the 2 bar sensor from?

Well, you cant use your 355 crank in a 383. You build a 383 by using a longer stroke to build the extra inches. Secondly, there are several different combinations of pistons and rods that still all equal a 383.
Any shop should be able to tell easily if your parts are good enough to use. You can reuse your pistons with a new crank and the correct rod.

2 bar map sensors are available all over pretty much, you just need to decide which style you want. The oem style is basically a turbo buick map. 86-87 gn.

Im just putting one together for my impala. Its a 3.75 stroke (383) with 5.7 rods. I m unsure still on the pcm. I might just go to a gen 7 (lt1 compatable).

Im running a 220-230 cam, 76 mm turbo, modded stealth ram intake, my own turbo kit.

Just leave it 355, for the amount of money it will cost for a new crank then balancing. My 383 LT1 with LE2s and a turbo comp specd cam made 583rwhp/490wtq on 8psi through a TH400! I tried the 2 bar thing but its alot of hours of messing around, I would say if your car is running now, get it running on the 2 bar tune good then when you do the turbo build up you will at least have a base line.
Mine was a 230/236 .544/.555 114lsa with a T6 74mm

I probably didn't explain myself very well and don't want you thinking I'm an idiot. haha. Yeah I know I will need knew a new crank if I was to go 383, I was just asking if I was to stay with my 355 would reusing my forged internals be ok? Which you answered. Thanks.

Just leave it a 355 and reuse your parts, just have a machine shop freshen it all up and throw in new pistons.
