Default D1SC need valve springs???

I am about to install a D1SC on my 98 WS6. The guy i got the kit from said he highly recommended replacing the factory valve springs because the stock ones will allow the valves to float. I know the stock springs are pretty weak, but what would be my best bet for new springs to go with?? I know the Patriot Xtreme dual spring kit is probably the most affordable, but would i be better off with another spring setup including retainers, seals, locks, locators...

Any direction would be very helpful

Matt

patriot makes a great spring as a lot of aftermarket heads come stock with them, I ran my D1SC on my first setup with around 10 psi on stock springs for a while with no issues

I am also running a D1 at about 8psi on the stock springs. I do plan to change them out with the cam this coming winter, though. Definitely not a bad idea if you have the time and money.

Many years ago I ran my D-1SC on my 110,000 mile engine at 7 psi with stock springs, for several years without any problems. Bob
