s400 turbo with 408 stroker
hey guys i planning on getting a 408 stroker bottom end for my mustang ( 88 notchback, tubbed, 14pt cage weighs 3160# with me in it i alredy have a brand new borg warner s400 with a 75mm extended tip wheel with 1.32 AR exhaust. the motors running 317 heads ported, polished and gasket matched with comp springs. factory sized valves. edelbrock victor jr intake, 60# injectors and the edelbrock elbow with a 75mm throttle body the compression ratio is going to be approximately 9 to 1. the exhaust is 5in downpipe to dual 3in with sumit glasspacks. tial 60mm wastegate and an ebay blow off valve. car has th400 transmission with a 3800 rpm stall convertor with trans brake and two step. pistons are forged dishtops, it has eagle rods with arp bolts, and i have arp head studs and mls gaskets. and i have methanol injection good up to 25 psi whats the max boost that i can run on that engine? and how fast will the turbo spool i like to mess around with my friends who also have fast cars mid 10 sec and i wanna make sure it wont be a dig off the line i dont want any lag and i dont wanna have to use the trans brake every launch to spool up let me know guys thanks

A 408 wont have issues spooling the S400, I would say wil would spool around 3300-3500 rpm. But you would deffinitly benifit by selling the S400 and going to an S480+.

Agreed....or at least have it upgraded to a 80mm. We upgrade quite a few of them weekly....really makes a big difference.
