Default I think i did it. Stock K member. Turbo. AC

I just finished a driver side motor mount that allows for a 3" down pipe, flipped 98 passenger manifold, and a 2.5 pipe from the pass side to pass through. (Ebay PTK style)

Here are the specs of the motor mount.

3/8 plate for the k member mount
3/8 plate for the engine plate
1" thick wall square tube
Jeep CJ polyurethane leaf spring bushing.

This setup allows me to keep the AC, use stock manifolds, and still have great plug access. Plus, the mount only cost me 25 bucks in parts. Rather than install solid mounts, I have poly mounts that still allow easy access to my trans without a big ordeal. The bushing is acting as the motor mount, and rather than have the mount on the block, the motor mount is located on the k member.

My turbo setup consists of:

2 deltagates
PT67 T4 flanged turbo
Two 98 Passenger Manifolds
2.5" cross over
3" Downpipe
Ebay intercooler piping
33x12x3 intercooler

I just test fit everything. The motor mount was the key.

Pictures will come tomorrow when i remove this for paint.

Discuss.

PICS

Gents (and Ladies) here are the pictures. The most important part of this mount is that it doesn't allow any pipes to go under the K member. This is something i refused to do.

Pics on first post.

The only thing I worry about is a solid motor mount on an aluminum block.

Great engineering though.

Lots of people run solid motor mounts on an ls1. I honestly dont notice much of a difference between the stock ones and the solids.

That bushing should do the job. Nice work, it looks good! Bob

I had to get motor mount plates like that made. I was melting the poly mounts within a day. Mine bolt directly to the BMR turbo Kmember motor pedestals. I haven't had any issues and for whatever reason, it doesn't transmit the engine vibration thru the chassis.

I know that its literally been 10 years since this thread was posted but by chance do you have pictures of the mount still since photobucket doesnt allow them to view anymore?

There is a plugin available for chrome that allows photobucket pics to work, but it's hit or miss on some.

Pics are below.

That’s one way to get we done! I have a set of forward facing headers I designed during my time at Jardine’s Header Palace that keep ac and power steering.

my car is gutted with none of that so I never used them.., and they were too complicated to make to really mass produce them for sale
