Went to look at a turbocharger today off a caterpillar engine.
From the info i have found the engine is a D399. Its a schwitzer or switzer turbo. P/N 7N 3203
Turbine housing n.o. 7N3204
Switzer F 452 B1981/380

I am not sure if how the spelling of switzer(?) was but the turbo is brand new never spun on an engine. The guy wanted $100 dollars for it. I dont know how big this turbo is and it is definitely unused. I have a 5.3 i am currently starting a turbo build on and considered this obviously for the price but i know nothing about this turbo. ANyone have any info on it by chance? I was originally thinking MPT 76 new but for 100 bucks with flanges and stuff. You can see my point. I havent bought it in case its way too big and wont spool.

NO pics unfortunately. I did measure the gas entry point size on the turbine housing. Its divided and judging by the measurement i would need a T6 flange for it.

took some measurements of the turbine and compressor wheels. THe compressor wheel inducer diameter is 66mm, exducer is 94mm.
turbine wheel inducer diameter is 91mm and exducer is 78.5mm.

Would this mean this is a 94mm turbo? Dont know if this would be any good for a stock 5.3L. WOuld it work at all?
