Default Quick Turbo 2-Step lauch/tune question, log attached.

Hey guys,

Could one of the veteran HP Tuner Turbo tuners out there please take a quick look at the attached log?

1) Does the logged RPM report accurately in HPT while on the 2-step?
I have it set at 4,000rpm and it reads 2,100~ until I release the tbrake.

2) Is 30* of timing appropriate for spool-up on the brake at lower boost?
The car really woke up when I added timing in this area?

3) Is the reported AFR going to be reported falsely lean due to the misfires while on the 2-step? I would presume so, just checking.

4) My 9 year old DAUGHTER was in charge of the transbrake button! She rocks, and will drive the car one day. LOL !!!

Quick combo info:

6.0L running E85
twin borg t366 with .86 A/R
8.8-1 compression, Ls9 heads
238/242 cam 114lsa
TH400 3.73 gear (for now)
PTC converter - love it so far.

Thanks!

Jim

1) My rpm read correctly when I was on the brake and the 2 step.

2) Yes, that's OK. I have 38* of timing in LS2Formula's car on the tbrake/2step and e85 without issue.

3) Should read rich as the plugs are firing every other time. Tune the area under normal conditions and dont worry too much about what you see on the 2 step.

Thanks a million!

I just got off the phone with Synergy who made the 2-step and they said there is a switch inside the box to select either 4cyl or 8cyl mode. This is likely the problem.
I installed the box as shipped, so maybe it was in 4cyl mode, hopefully an easy fix.
The car footbrakes to 3,500+ in a blink, so I knew it was an electrical issue.

Thanks for the good advice.
The car woke up BIGTIME when I added 8* to the sub 145kpa cells below 4k.
I still only have 13* in it at 4,500+, so the tune is soft until the wot afr's are perfect.
I don't want to melt down the new combo learning HPT, so I am taking my time on this.
The tune seems to be coming together, but WOT tuning on the street is a little tricky in my neighborhood.
Luckily there is a local 1/8 mile track, er, I mean an industrial park nearby.......

Problem solved.

The issue was that since this is a conversion, the setting for the tach output was changed in the PCM
from 6 to 3 to make the autometer tach accurate.
BUT the 2-step works off the same output, so it was getting false info regarding RPM.

My midnight 3,300rpm tbrake test was right on the money with 125kpa built within 1 second at 3,300rpm, with
$20 worth of ET Street black marks on the pavement as a constant reminder that often times the most complex problems are often solved by the simplest solutions.
The tach is inaccurate now, but I will be using a shift light anyways.

2 minute pcm reflash, DONE
