Default Horizontal Radiator

Anyone install a radiator horizontal? In other words, have the radiator lay flat in the same way one would install an intercooler horizontal. This would be of course to make room for more stuff in the engine bay.

Of course one would need to cut the lower support out and reweld a replacement where necessary.

Pics would be great.

Thanks.

I’ve seen this setup on the corvetteforums.com. I think a couple of guys have done it. Id be worried about street driving but apparently the guy has no issues. Im sure you would need some crazy fans to keep it cool. I had some darale fans that put out 4000cfm on my old turbo iroc setup. Id try to find pics but his setup pretty well covered everything so you can’t see the rad.

I wouldn't lay it totally flat, lean up the front just slightly so there aren't any air pockets. Don't run a cap on the rad, run a surge tank (GM trucks and I think vettes run surge tanks on the heater core line).

Although after I though about it he still laid it back but it is in the nose. Could have easily laid it forward also
