Nothing new.

It is a modified root thread. There are many variations of that.
I have machined threads to their specs. Pain in butt to gage. Puts the load point on the weakest part of the thread form. Basically you have a loose class thread fit that allows the "easy spinning" and no lubrication. When load is applied the mismatch of the male an female forms causes deformation the basically locks it.

The advantage if this style thread is it can lower scrap caused at assembly caused by lack of lubrication and or poor quality assembly techs.


Ask you self this. If this is so great do they use this style thread form of critical applications such linkage and fasteners in military and commercial aircraft?
