I know how it feels to build a car over a long period of time. It took me 3 years from start to finish. Glad to see this thing almost done.

Looks good! I'm close to firing mine as well. Just need the time to work on it. I'm in the same boat as far as slow rebuilds. Mine has been a 7+ year project.

7 years? wow..... ive been building mine for like 2 years now, well i really didnt know what i wanted to do with the car at first, so more like a year... but i cant imagine working on something that long. I guess its cause i dont have a family yet. I imagine that slows things down real nice... hahaha

Yep, life has a way of keeping a person busy.

I will be using HP Tuners too. Studying up on it because it'll be my first time with tuning.

Have fun with hptuners! ive had it for about 2 years now and tuned a few buddies cars. Its fun but a huge learning curve. Get ready for many hours sitting in your car looking at a screen and getting pissed.... hahaha

Does the car have to be running in order to set up a basic tune to start with? Meaning, can I change the info on the pcm (a copy of my 2000 Trans Am) to match what I've done to the car? I highly doubt It'll wanna stay running without some sort of changes.

Nice build. I built mine while in college as well. I almost did H/C/I but it was actually cheaper to go turbo. After i priced out TFS heads, new cam, Ported FAST intake, and 1-7/8 headers, I realized fabbing a turbo kit was much cheaper lol.

Now that i graduated, im spending money in places that i had to skip. It's a lot of fun but when you comes together and you make good power, youll be super happy with yourself for doing it on a budget. Keeps you away from the "while I'm at it" bug.

With hptuners, you will first license the pcm, then you can make changes. Usually what is done for the first startup of a build big or any significant changes is to make an educated guess as to what it will needand flsh the pcm ,then start it and start scanning and then make changes that will fine tune it.

Heres a few tuning guides that helped me when i first started tuning, just remember to take everything you read about someones tuning with a grain of salt, as everyone has there own ways going about tuning and not everyone is right.

hey bud can you please link me or give me a part number to the intercooler and radiator you used? Looks like a cx racing intercooler and a griffin rad ( assuming so because most people run that combo it seems like )

thanks !

Small update:
Made small progress on getting some more things wired and getting the car two heat cycles broken in. I dont wanna run it much more without getting some type of load to set the rings.

I had everything to go for the tranny until i realized the the bolts for the spacer i am going to run were two short... grinding my progress for the weekend to a halt. So back to school i went. I now have the right bolts but no money and no time to go back home with school and all.

But i will be going back for thanksgiving break witch is a week and i can hopefully drive it for the first time!
