Default LSX 427...is this power a little low?

Details:

2011 Camaro, Gforce engineering 9" rear end kit with Strange S trac 35 spliine 3.5 gears. Stock TR6060 transmission.

Motor: Brand new HKE built LSX 427, dragonslayer, wiseco -23cc coated pistons, callies ultra billet rods, Pat G 231/246 .675/.652 116+4 cam, Mast blacklabel 305 6 bolt LS7 heads. Comp ration about 9.4 to 1

Procharger D1sc with 3.7 pulley 8 rib.

On the dynocomm dyno the avg pull was about 640rwhp/630ish torque with some belt slip at 5300rpm. Both HP and Tq flat lined about this point 5500rpm.

Boost registered between 11-12 psi on the Autometer boost gauge. AFR was 11.4 and timing about 18deg

One one pull with the PC filter and intake tube removed we got a best of 690rwhp and 684 tq.

Pat G was the tuner

I know the D1sc is smallish for this big breathing motor but i was surprised we were able to get 12psi out of it.

I am surprised at the meager output with this setup. On my LS3 at 12psi i got 715rrwhp and 611 tq on the stock bottom end. this was on a different dyno however (dynojet at Dallas Performance)

I was anticipating that if we got 10-12 psi out of the D1SC i should have seen a little above 800rwhp with this combo.

So, what do you think it should have been

Thanks

Seems low to me with all of the good components you have.....You may be getting 12 psi out of it, but that does not mean that you are getting enough volume for the displacement and high-flowing heads. The fact that the horsepower jumped 50 when the air filter was removed IMHO further indicates this.....Sounds like a great setup.....

Are you sure you weren't getting any belt slip? This could also be a problem which would cause the flatlining of the power curves.

The compression is way too low for that blower. Say it was 10.5-1 compression it would make ALOT more power. It takes alot of air to fill those cylinders.

So, the numbers do not surprise me.

F1C @14lb's and the motor will start waking up. hp&tq flatlining at 5500rpm says alot. Yes I think the numbers are good comparing it to other setups at 5500rpm but they continue to climb another 1500rpm and 100hp.

Strap it to a dynojet if you want to 'see' a good/better number...

As mentioned, if the power fell off that early, either the belt was slipping up top, or the blower is out of steam.

Yes, there was definitely belt slip as you could smell the rubber. That and the blower was out of steam anyway. He just informed me today that his bearings on the dyno just gave out....wonder if that was part of the problem.

We are working a PCM issue now. the PCM kicks out a P0606 code "PCM internal failure" and car goes into reduced power mode. This only happened on the street tune after the dyno runs.

Sounds like a pissed off E38

I'm sure the tune is spot on with Patrick swinging the keyboard, I bet it makes a more 'expected' number on a DJ especially once the slip is dealt with.

Good luck.
