Turbo options for my 5.3 s10 build
I have been in a mix on what would be my best option for a turbo for my 89 s10. the build is almost complele and im down to the hot side. My cross over is 2.5'' I originally was gonna go with a pt88 but now i have been checking into the borg warner turbos.
my current setup is
2005 5.3l stock block engine
4l80e
241 ported and polished heads
hardened push rods
ls6 cam
double valve springs with titanium retainers
80 lb siemens injectors
ls1 intake
trick flow rails
2 bar map
hptuners
i was looking at the s475 t6 with 1.32ar because its less than 700 shipped to my door, would that turbo get me to the 650whp mark? anyone else have a better opinion?

You could run a 472 with the 1.1 t6 housing and 83mm turbine wheel. This is still a $700 unit and would be better suited to your combo.
We ran a similar combo a on a 5.3l ls6 cam L33 engine in a Silverado. Only with the 68mm compressor wheel, and it made 681rwhp on 35" tires through an 80e.
Oh and nice thing about that unit is that you can upgrade down the road to a hoss compressor and turbine wheel and bolt it right in.
