Default How much boost with my mods to get 500-525rwhp?

Okay I bought a tms 346 forged shortblock and I'm going to swap everything else over from my ls1. So it's going to be a stock ci with LT's/ORY, Ls6 intake, with an ls6 cam and brian tooley dual springs, flt lvl 5 4l60e with circle d 3400 stall. I'm putting the stock 853 heads back on also.. So it's probably going to have around 350ish rwhp on motor. I'm wondering if my 4.5 pulley will get me in the 500rwhp range. That should put it around 9-10 lbs of boost I would think. Tell me what you think it will take boost wise. I really don't want to go over 525hp tell I upgrade from my racetronix/hotwire fuel pump.

should be pretty close. upgrade the fuel stuff now though, unless you do your own tuning. no point in doing it twice

I have a friend who does my tunning with efilive. I don't have any extra cash to start upgrading fuel. It actually says it's good to 600+ hp, but I'd rather play it safe. My tunner will know if my fuel is good. I don't want to go over 525hp for awhile now anyways. I'm sure I'll be plenty happy going from an engine that made 360rwhp before to 525 lol.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did TMS build the short block. What was included... What brands....what specs (piston, rods, crank, details). If you wouldn't mind, I'm kinda thinking I might get a shortblock this year.

Thanks,
Jason

well atleast you can get it tuned for pretty cheap then. but i understand the money part. i just know that i got used to 600+whp reallllllly fast and am already pushing for more. I went from 380 to 630 so i made a similar jump, its outrageous at first but once you get a handle on it, youll want more especially since you are have built bottom.. i dont lol

boost is all relative to whats done to the motor. X amount of boost isnt going to get you X amount of HP. i think youll need a little more pulley than a 4.5. try a 4.38 or 4.25

if the car made 380rwhp, in a perfect world youd need to make 5#'s on that motor to make 510hp... 9-10lbs is going to be near the 600range. ....in a perfect world....but there are many factors that are going to alter how much boost you make.

I would've just stayed with the stock motor. 500hp is no problem, save all the labor for later on.

Stock motor has no oil pressure lol. The plan was to run it on the stock 50k mile ls1 for awhile, but for w/e reason oil pressure dropped. I'm guessing spun bearing

id say 7lbs would be a great start since you dont have a cam in it, Or at least I have not seen it mentioned.

In my OP at the top I mentioned it.. Probably going to put in a ls6 cam with brian tooley springs. My last motor had a 224r with prc springs. I want a cam that will be easy on the valvetrain and plus the ls6 has great specs for boost.
