Default Emusa wastegate not closing fully

I got a brand new 38mm wastegate, hooked it up as per information on this forum, and noticed that even at idle I have exhaust coming out of it. I took it back off and can see day light between the valve and the seat. I took the top off, and removed the springs. The valve itself moves freely, it just feels like it stops solid before completely sealing off at the bottom. Anyone else had this problem? Is this normal? If not, is this something I can fix, or should I contact them about it? Haven't been able to get into boost yet to test the functionality otherwise

Is the fire ring in the waste gate? Mine you can see daylight through if the ring is not installed other wise it seals fine

ah, thats's what that extra piece that was loose in the box is. I thought it was an extra v-band mount. why would that piece not be pre-installed? I will try that and see if that solves it. thanks for the help guys
