how much hp befor pushing water? 1/2" headstuds, 3/4" deck heads.

Default how much hp befor pushing water? 1/2" headstuds, 3/4" deck heads.

How much horsepower before pushing water? Trying to get a ball park figure, I know detonation greatly affects the ability of the engine to stay sealed.

4.030 bore
ETP heads 3/4" deck
LS9 head gasket.
1/2" head studs.

12-1300 at the tires is doable, use good fuel and dont get too aggressive with the timing and you shouldn't have any issues. Its more of an issue of tuning then anything else, if you just tune your stuff as a hobby i suggest getting someone with years of experience that does it for a living to tune it, especially if you are investing a large amount of money into the motor.

It's mostly up to tune and octain. We've pushed 1200 on stock size studs no problem.
