I just installed a meth kit so i moved my iat to right before the tb. The nozxles are 8 and 12 inches away. I was stuck in an hour of horrible traffic today and it was 100 out. My iats got up to 130 sitting there.

I didn't have any driveability issues but iv also didn't try a hot restart. Do you guys that have it close to the intake see the same?

Mine is located about 6" or so from my throttle body right before the 90 degree elbow attached to the TB. No real problems with mine. It does act a little funny on really hot start up. For instance, after making a pass at the track on a hot day, shutting the car off to heat soak for a few minutes and then starting it right back up. I dont hardly ever do that so it doesnt really bother me. I am installing a IAT gauge tomorrow to monitor them just to see whats up.

I have IAT 6" from TB and it can get to 150F on 75F day in traffic or waiting at the strip. Seems to lean out a lot when IAT heats up...

My IAT is in the intake and I see similar behavior. It's just due to the cold pipes and intercooler heating up as you're sitting there from all of the underhood heat. It doesn't really have anything to do with sensor location.
