Merging IC piping?

Default Merging IC piping?
I have a single turbo IC with 3" in-out and i'm doing twins with 2.5" outlets is it bad to make a merge like a Y or similar and joint them together 2-2.5 to 1-3"? Its a large IC so it should flow well and if anyone has pics of similar please post them up!
