Anyone done a 2" crossover w/2.5 or 2.75 merge?
Hi Gents,
I'm doing a 4.8 or 5.3 single turbo. I have a TC78, 317 heads, truck manifolds modified ready for V-band clamps. It will be going into the '63 Chevy II. I have access to a 4.8 for cheap but will probably hold out for a 5.3. I've looked at quite a few crossover pipe discussions on here and Yellow Bullett. I have most of the material to make it out of 2 inch 304 SS ( ID about 1 7/8). This was suggested in the coss over discussions but I was wondering if anyone had actually used pipe this small and how well it worked and also what size merged was used. With the 2" pipe, a 3" merge seems to large. I'm thinking 2.5 or 2.75 for the merge. My car will be a mainly a street car and if I can get 550 whp through the 4L80 I'll be very happy. Fast spool and midrange are what I'm really looking for.
