Tick Performance LT1 turbo build 907rwhp/860rwtq 19psi
#55
Well we are done with tuning. We really don't want to push this stock LT1 block and the fact that we've never tuned a LT1 making this much power before.
We're using a B8EFS plug and it is showing little to no heat. There is still cadium on literally the entire strap. Boost was 18-19psi on the last pulls and timing was 16* at peak torque ramping to 18.5* at 6000rpm to redline. This being a 23* headed motor and not a 15* headed LS really slows the burn in the chamber down calling for even more ignition advance to reach MBT. Being on 93 pump gas and dual 15gph meth nozzles we could easily add another 3-4 degrees timing and possibly reach or best 900rwhp, but that's not what we're after today.
Absolutely love the power curve this thing produces. Torque is there from the very beginning of hit and hangs on for days. Just slowly peaks and slowly trails off to redline. It was never meant to be a screamer, just a fun torque minded street car.
19psi, 18* timing, 10.8-11.8 AFR(dips down to 10.8 when methanol comes on full blast at peak torque, then slowly leans out as RPM rises to redline)
19psi vs. 13psi. We had 18* timing in it on the 19psi pull and only 16* timing in it on the 13psi pull. We could easily go back and make more on the 13psi tune-up, but the tune in our opinion is safe and should stay that way unless the owner wants more.
