Twin screw or centrifugal?
Hey guys, so I have on 03 lq4 that I'm gonna put in my cts v. I am wanting to boost it and have a few questions. I would like to be in the 600-700 range. Now I want a supercharger but not sure if to get whipple, Maggie or procharger. Max boost on all these? Best reliability? Easiest to tune or repair? Also I got stock 317 heads, good for boost? Or ls3 heads?

With the CTS-V being a heavier car, I would lean toward a TVS or Whipple. Boost is boost. Tuning will be about the same. I would run LS3 heads with LS9 head gaskets and a stock LS3 intake manifold. If you plan on going past 12-15psi, I would use LSA heads as they are a much harder material than the LS3 heads and won't wiggle around under high boost like an LS3 head will.

Lol. I had a brain fart. If you do a centri you will need the LS3 manifold if you do LS3 or LSA heads. The LS9 head gaskets work on everything from a 4.8 to a 6.2 engine. I would personally do a TVS or Whipple on that car for a goal of 600-700rwhp. If you were shooting for 800+ I would say do a Procharger F1A or a Vortech YSi. Is your car a manual or auto? If it's an auto, you can do a centri and pair it with a good converter to make up for the centri having a bit less torque down low. In the end, anything you choose to add boost is going to be fun!
