2000 ws6 turbo build. single s366 turbo. trucks manifolds, stock alt location
started a thread on truck manifolds and 2 1/4 inch vbands but figured a full build thread was in order. started this build friday afternoon and got it mostly done this morning. all told have probably 12-15 hours at most in it. ive never fabricated anything of this caliber and i must say it came together quite nicely in way less time then i anticipated!
anyways here are some details:
goals are mild... 550-600 rwhp and a fast spooling turbo for the 6 speed but this could have easily just been a monster turbo build haha. If the stock cam doesnt get me there i have a tu1 i will throw in but really trying to do this super cheap. i have the camaro for stupid power levels haha.
My goal was to retain the accessories in their stock locations as well as keep the sway bar with truck manifolds. I thought this was going to be a problem as most truck manifold kits lose it... but as it turns out i have no idea why people delete it lol... super easy. The radiator was already stood up from my previous turbo build so i kept it that way. anyways onto some pics.
now i just gotta take everything apart and clean **** so its halfway decent :p hahaha. i also still need to buy and install a blowoff valve
ill update when its running and post some track times and dyno numbers!
anyways here are some details:
- motor is a l33 bottom end with 862 heads 10.5:1 compression
- 98 ls1 cam
- ls1 intake
- borg warner s366 turbo (66/73)
- truck manifolds with 2 1/4" vbands
- 2 1/4" hot side pipe

We done a 4.8 in a Camaro with this turbo. T56 car does pretty good. Will also have track times soon from it. We're all going in a month or so. He's still on low boost though. His thread is on this first page of threads. It should do well on the l33. Turn it up lol. Let it eat.

oh ill turn it up hahaha. yep i remember reading the thread is was funny because i decided to buy this turbo then a day or 2 later came across your thread. wasnt he redynoing this weekend with the ls6 cam? if i remember right he had a huuuuge n/a cam in there which slowed his spool
