Default Need help with truck manifolds

Ok, I need to shave off one, of the heat sheild mounts on my manifold. Has anyone done this? Also how much can I take off with out it cracking?

IIRC, i ground mine down smooth to the rest of the manifold.

I cut most mounting holes off mine. I also cut the egr hump completely off and welded the hole in flush. I had clearance issues with my a-arm.

Are people keeping the heat shields on their stock manifolds for FI builds? I don't see why you wouldn't want too.

If you can keep them, go for it. I didn't have space.
I think it adds a stealth look.

Most of the tabs on the manifolds can be ground flush. There are one or two (clearly visible) that you have to be careful on. Just take your time and use common sense

i always leave the heat shields on if i can they work great at... shielding the heat!
