Default 5" flexible exhaust pipe

has anyone thought about using the 5" flexible exhaust pipe from their turbo to dump out of the front bumper or even snake around in the engine compartment? It is what is used on semi trucks for their exhaust that goes from under the cab to the stacks... it is made of 409 stainless and pretty sure it could hold up since it seems to for decades on semi's

an example of what im talkiing about...

Those have a tendency to rust and get small holes/cracks in them. The tighter then bend, the more likely it'll start to leak.

Ive had a 12" piece of it on my truck for 3 years with out even a hint of rust or rot. For 1/10th the cost of that stainless piece, id use it. If it where me id start with the cheap aluminized piece and see if it flows like **** (depending on the number of bends) if it feels good, make your call on material.

Your over thinking it. It's just a piece of pipe.. Are you after a record? If you can't fabricate a smooth pipe just run it and be done.

I have 2 pieces of that flex pipe but in 3" on my speed boat. Its just clamped to the end of the headers and go to these baffle things coming out the back of the boat. Its been on there atleast 6 years and is a little discoloered but not rusted or broken at all..
