I will say this. My car was procharged first - now turbo. M6 the whole time for both. Hands down no comparison, turbo is way more fun. No to mention it made 100wtq more just making the switch.( I know there variables ) I will never go back. If I break this t56 I'll do a 80e

I like the torque curve or lack of curve so to speak of a super charger.
This is the graph of a dyno pull from a 408 with a old school 10-71 roots blower. Should be plenty of fun on a small tire 51 Chevy 5-window truck don't ya think!

I've had both. I had prochargers on both my old z28 and my c5 z06. The thing about the procharger was that it was insanely easy to install on my c5 z06! And extremely reliable at the power level I was at. I installed it in 2 days and drove it up to the dyno/track that weekend 10.5 hours round trip. Never had a single issue. Car made 537rwhp and ran 11"s@124 after being on the car for 2 days. Self contained oil system so I didn't have to tap the pan. Had the car for over a year with procharger and beat the **** out of it and never had one problem with it. Only reason I sold car was because I didn't enjoy the 6-speed like I thought I would.
......Now for an f-body I would go with a turbo because huron speed is making badass kits and IMO turbo's are much more fun. Nothing IMO beats the sound of a turbo spooling and a turbo car feels so much faster at the same power levels. The torque is insane with a turbo car. Honestly the power was fun in the vette, but it felt like n/a power. The turbo hits so hard right off the bat you're at full boost where as a procharger you build boost with rpm. Both are great and I think you should ride in one of each at similar power levels before you make your decision. After I road in a turbo car I was HOOKED. I will end with saying if I get another vette I will again put a procharger on it. Much easier to install clean and for the vette's I could not find any good turbo kits.

Also I will add that I have a little device called a "boost controller" on my turbo car. You really want to beat someone in a race? Take 30 seconds to turn your **** and add 100hp and you can't beat that.

As Lil John said once; "nothing like a turbo car and there's nothing like a turbo car bangin' gears!" You can't beat banging gears on a fun street car that you can also have some fun with at the track.

Call Lil John - get a cheap turbo, have him spec you a cam, and beat the hell out of it. I know of several 600+ hp stock T56's car's without issue and one with gforce gears/sprayers that was making 1000whp. You should be able to granny shift that thing on low boost and run 11.50 without a problem. As stated by others, if that is your goal, basic bolt-ons and cam will get you there.

josh im not sure if you were the one that almost bought my kit.. the v1 with a/c and then backed out (no biggie..if it was you?? lmao)...anyways im keeping the kit and runnin it..ive ridden in many diff setups.. but i can say that my dad built a lsx 454 f body ta with a big *** cam and mast heads...auto/s60 the bitch made 585 wheel... all along mine made at the time 565wheel thru a stocckk ls1 and this turbo kit witha 7575 on 12lbs and it felt alott faster somehow... i agree turbo cars sound badass, feel alot faster, and just straight make the best power the best way and sound the best... turbos are amazing...flat out... id say to get a turbo that isnt to small... thats the last thing you want.. no one wants lag but no1 wants a turbo that falls off up top..cant go wrong with huron speed... best of luck OP

If I decide to go FI, I'd rather go the Procharger route, but it is significantly more expensive than a turbo setup.

everyone talks power and dyno graphs. well that does not mean a damn thing if you can not hook the power you are making. Imo a fun street car is one that puts the power to the ground. Having to do 60mph ricer rolls because you can not hook is super gay!

Yes I could more down low but why I don't want to have a car that looks like it had donk wheels on it then I wanted to go 80's and do big and littles on it. I want reliability and I can just turn up power as needed while in the ac and leather

No, not at all. To make ~700rwhp from a turbo and a Procharger might cost you about $500 difference in the end.

I was talking about getting power to the ground. more power does no good if you can't hook. I won't jack up the car in air like a car on donks, by doing no ac,seats, power steering to do it. Nor do the 1980's style big and littles to do it. Just make more power and don't worry about it

I see... There are turbo kit's that will not require you to do any of that. I wouldn't say bigs n little's is an 80's thing either. I see more f-body's with drag setups than ever before on the street. Mt's will get you to hook at most power levels.
