Hooking with 18's?
I posted this in the tire/wheel section but no replies. Since the car will be boosted I thought maybe someone here might have some opinions or results.
I would really like to keep 18" wheels on my Chevelle with some new Weld RTS wheels and M/T 305/45/18" drag radials, but I am hoping to cut some low 1.3 60' times with it on the trans brake. What is the best 60' you have done or heard of on an 18" tire and what size/brand was it?
The other option is Champion 15" beadlocks. I've really been trying to stick with the pro tour look so far, but beadlocks look bada$$ too.
I can't afford 2 sets of wheels and tires, especially at what these things cost!

I've seen some 1.2 60 times cut on Mickey Thompson 295/45/17 radicals.
Or do like I am. 18s for the street, 15s for the track. No point in wearing out your street tires early or giving up ET for them lol.

Why even F*ck around with an 18" rear?
Guys with the newer gen cars and factory large diameter brakes are paying big $ to switch all that out so they can run a 15" tire/wheel combo...wonder why?..
