Default e85 no intercooler?

Setup is a 402ci lq9 block ls3 heads. Forged bottom end. Around 11.3:1 static comp. Cam is 234/242 @ .050 115lsa .665 lift. Will be running pump e85 (tests at around 92%)

Going to be putting up to 20psi or so into it on kill running twin s366 borgs. Will be street driven, drag raced occasionally and generally given a hard time.dum

Possible to run with no intercooler? Will look at meth injection if needed

I think compression is high on your setup for no inter cooler. I ran no intercooler for a bit. 9.5:1, e85 with meth cruising I had iats in the 170's on a 85 degree day. On a short burst they would climb to 230-240. It's hard to see what the combustion temps are doing, but I wasn't comfortable with it so I bought a tread stone.

A little high on compression, if doing so tread lightly on the tune up and don't just look for a boost number. Highest I have ran was 10.5:1 with no intercooler at 28psi and the car went 8.3@170 @3400lbs. Camshaft, chamber, quench, and piston design could make or break that though.

What kind of Camshaft, chamber, quench, and piston design did you run to hit those numbers?

thanks!

Fair size solid cam 255 range at .050, spherical dish and softened chambers in a SBF. IATs would peg at the 1/8th.

Boost doesn't mean a whole lot to me as the hp and mph through the traps. Cals SBF we build went 189mph at 3550lbs with only 22psi on corn.

agreed compression high, but you might be able to play with a little less boost and water inj. and be fine...we run a little over 9-1, no intercooler 25psi
