Suggestions: Pistons and Rods for S/C LS3 engine?
Need for suggestions and opinions, which are known to be good piston / rod makes here.
Should pistons to be coated when using E85
Going to keep stockish CR in my engine.
Cause i have to use my car also without charger (for racing purposes) from time to time.
Engine: LS3
Fuel: E85
Boost / Hp: Has been 8psi and 700hp/900nm (flywheel) with stock internals, aiming for bit more at future, but not much. 10-11psi maximum.
My sponsor has offered CP Bullet series pistons but some say that 1. ring is too high in piston for boosted engine?
Anyone know is design same on their all LS pistons, some are meant for N/A, some with use with "power adder"

Seems like the Callies Compstar Rods and Wiseco pistons are a common budget minded selection. I just bought a set of each for about $1,200. Full floating wrist pins, H-beam design, close in weight to the stockers. Disclaimer: My setup is a 5.3 but shooting for 900rwhp. Turbos' at hand are a single PT76gts and twin GT35's. Going to start with the PT76 but later next spring I'm going to try the twins.
