Default Using Truck Manifolds for Twin setup located on block sides

Although my initial setup will be my trusty PT76GTS mounted on tubular headers in the traditional front mount location, I'm been really intrigued by the twins setup that INTMD8 used in his LT1 Z28. That being, on either side of the block instead of being in the battery, etc areas. I've already bought some 1/2" mild steel flanges and a box full of 2" mandrel bends for welding it all up. But then, I started seeing some guys were taking truck(and car) stock manifolds, cutting away a lower subsection and welding the T3/4 flanges direction onto the manifolds. This seems like a great idea. Strong(no support braces/bracketry needed, tucked close to the block, great heat retention, no cracking as is prone in some tube setups.

Sometime in the past many months, I saw someone that had already done something like this on an LSx based engine, but damned if I can find it now. I went ahead and bought a couple of 2005 manifolds and they are in route now. Once ol'man winter stops being a royal pain, I'll get out there under the car and start mocking this up. I'll take pictures if it seems like a viable option.

In the meantime, if any of you good people have any pictures of a similar Fbody LSx manifold setups, please share if you have the time.

Here's what I'm hoping to emulate on each side of the motor...

Thanks,
Dave

Aha.. thanks. That's the one I'd seen. I didn't realize that he had to cut some sheet metal. I suppose it depends on how large of turbo housings one uses if you have to resort to that. Thanks again for finding it.

I always use some connection pipes. Stock 2 bolt flange to 4 bolt flangle.

Theses are probably longer than what you are thinking.

Otherwise disregard my post. Lol

Hey, those look pretty good. Do you have any pictures of this setup installed? Thanks for the picture.

Yes, these are on a 5th Gen camaro so i am sure your placement would be different.

I was just test fitting my kit with the new 4l80.
