1994 Toyota Supra 25.5 Twin Turbo LSX
After finally signing up over here i figured it was time to share what i have going on currently!
This car will be primarily built to be a purpose built drag car but it will not be built specifically for any 1 class but more so to scratch my itch to build a drag car but something a bit different than what's out there.
For now i'd like to race at any import event that will allow it, some grudge racing, but mainly would like to try my hand at heads up drag radial racing here in California with the WCHRA (West Coast Hot Rod Association)
So the decision was made to source a RWD platform that we could run an auto trans w/ a brake for heads up racing............and me being me i decided to build something different and so this became a collaboration between myself, my good friend of many years Ron @ Wicked1Racing who does all sorts of LSX swaps, along with the my guys @ FFTEC MOTORSPORTS.
I'd considered everything from Foxbodys to Camaros to Chevy II's really anything that would be a good starting point preferably lightweight and if it had some work already done to it it would be a benefit but not 100% necessary
HERE IS THE PLAN:
- SFI 25.5 MS cage
- 427 Alum sleeved ERL (9.8:1)
- ETP LS7 285cc heads w/ Jesel rockers
- Twin COMP 78mm turbos (billet center section OIL-LESS)
- A2W Intercooler
- FIC 2150 inj for E85
- Aeromotive belt driven fuel pump
- Holley Dominator EFI
- Holley Hi-ram intake manifold w/ rails
- 102mm TB
- Hughes PG trans built for 3000hp w/ trans brake
- DSS Alum driveshaft
- Strange HD Pro alum case w/ 3.50 gears and spool
- Mark Williams Hi-Torque Superlight axles
- Plan is to run it on a 315 DR
Eventually i stumbled across this 1994 Toyota Supra that was from Florida and at 1st look it wasn't your ordinary babied Supra it was built for drag racing by Race Car Fabrication for a company called WWR (they campaign a 6sec 2JZ Solara)
Here are a few pics of it back then with a stock 2JZ block + promod 88 + nitrous + TH400
And here's a quick vid of it running 8.0 @ 174mph
After 2013 it sat for a year in a container so it will def need some work this is how it looked when advertised (note they switched to a smaller 31x10.5W tire):
So we hashed out a deal and it just so happened that a good friend of mine who is an auto transporter actually ended up being very close friends (like family) with the seller of the Supra so here it is on the his truck heading back to it's new home in CA!
EDITED 9/9/15 AS I FORGOT TO INCLUDE THESE PICS TO SHOW THE START OF THE BUILD!
So the first order of business was to start tearing into it to get ready for fabrication and mock up of the motor/trans so here are some more pics of the car during the process:

Love it!!!
I see its a planned SEMA build-have you done a SEMA build before? If so, and LSx in a Supra should be easy to get sponsors fro as it will get a ton of Media attention.

I have not built a SEMA car but both of the major sponsors i mentioned have and honestly it's not specifically built just for SEMA but if the work happens in time we'd def. like to try and have it there this year but track results are more my thing!

Sorry forgot to add this to the first post but here's what came with the rolling chassis when i bought it:
- 1994 Toyota Supra Auto Non-turbo (kinda why i don't feel so bad bastardizing it lol)
- Expired Cert'd roll cage (MS) needs a few more bars to cert to 25.5
- Basically it's like 3/4 chassis car with all factory body panels (you will see the under floor bars when i post pics later)
- Chassis Engineering Top Gun 4 link w/ ARB
- Chassis Engineering (MS) fabricated/narrowed/braced 9"
- 40 spline Mark Williams axles
- Aerospace brakes all around
- Strange double adjustable (rear) HKS drag c/o's (front)
- Lexan (front & rear)
- Derale trans cooler
- 15x12" Welds w/ 31x10.5W ET Drag
- 15x3.5" Weld Magnum fronts
