If you want a forged motor than that sounds good, very similar to mine. But if I could do it all over again I would have saved my money and just put a sbe 6.0 in there. Then with the money you save run e85 and a very big turbo.

Why shouldnt I build a forged motor? I want reliability, plus i plan on making alot more power down the line. I already have a gen 4 rodded 5.3 on my truck im playing with at the moment. Im not looking to keep having to swap out motors. I want to be able to throw whatever at it without the slightest worry of cracking ringlands ect. I know the SBEs hold up great but one mishap.....

Honestly you can break ringlands almost just as easy on a forged motors. Ringlands break due to detonation. Ive broken 2 forged motors that way, my stocker with a good tune never broke a sweat. Unless you are planning on over 800whp I dont think a forged motor is needed. Just do head studs, ls9 head gaskets and maybe rod bolts and be done.
