5.3 to 5.7 compatibility and pistons questions
Hey guys, I have a 5.3 short block that I want to bore out to 5.7 specs. Will my forged ls1 crank and rods transfer over? Also what forged pistons you would recommend?
Im unsure of the "dish" and all the other parameters that matter for buying a piston set. I have port and polished 853 heads (milled .004's off); not sure what other components you need to know. Looking for 800whp until upgrade my fuel system more, then 1000whp.
$150 to bore out the motor and $250 to balance the rotating assembly, decent price?

Any point in over-boring the engine?
The best thing about the 5.3 block is that there is enough meat between the cylinders to make the block incredibly strong. As soon as you over-bore it, you thin out the cylinders. I would stroke a 5.3 long before I would bore it.
Yes, your 5.7 crank and rods will work.

What pistons did you go with?
