all motor 428whp trying to go turbo 99 ws6 ls1
Hey ls1 tech friends i am in need of some Help and guidance to help me make my 99 ws6 ls1 To work with a 76mm turbo i was told that my set up wont work for a turbo what will i be able to use and what will i need to change.
My goal would be to b in the 700hp mayb if possible pls helpdumdum
All upgrades done to my ls1
Engine came out a 2000 camaro 5.7 ls1 with t56
patriot stage 3 ls6 heads cnc'ed ported and polished
tsp torque v3 cam 231/234 .643/598 111 lsa
ls6 intake ported& polished tb also ported and polished
patriot gold valve springs(duals) 650 lift
ls7 lifters
cloyes double roller timing chain
melling high pressure oil pump
arp head bolts
hardend push rods tsp
160* thermostat
42#injectors
pacesetter long tubes
asp under drive pulley
monster stage 3 clutch
tick master clutch cylinder

Who told you it won't work? And how exactly will it not work? If you put on a turbo on that engine will it not run?
It greatly depends on the compression you're running and how much boost you plan on. Cam is not ideal but it will work.
If you're in the low 10s compression, all you really need is some LS9 headgaskets, headstuds and a different cam. Not that much work.
If not, just swap out the Patriots for some OEM 317s.

The guys brother i got the motor from "Bought not built" we have competition in my town so maybe that's why he told me I don't know last time We raced he got me so i said **** it im going turbo and he said it wont work for that set up i have .i dont know how much boost to run i was hopping some one can tell me whats safe to run with my set up .i will check the compression but as far as i know pistons wernt changed if anything if the compression is higher and might because of a heads possibly Idk .and what kind of cam should i run i dont want mild i want people to **** when they hear me coming lol . If u where in my shoes what would u do to my engine to boost on a budget ?
