on a side note, did you use a foam brush or bristle brush with the hammer paint? I used foam and it worked pretty good. Just wondering if the bristle brush is better.

I painted mine with a normal bristle brush ages ago....well started it turned out ****.

I got much better results with those small microbristle type brushes...I guess almost like foam. Just make sure they're clean before you use them.

Still crap compared to spraypaint though but I really didnt care as spraying a lot more hassle.

I did spray, it took all frickin day. Were doing carbon fiber wrap on the door bars to protect that paint as I suck getting in and out. Also buying the foam for the main hoop.

I used the brush first and got splattered a couple of times and swapped to the foam and was much better.

I used foam as well as I was told it was better. The only thing that I had an issue with was that it seemed like the paint tacked up really fast and it I was kind of going over an area that was just recently done, it dragged the brush and didn't really make the finish nice.

I hope I explained that well.

I wonder if there is a thinner that could be added to the brush on hammer paint to help it apply nicer?

I found it did that if I used the same foam brush for too long. I bought several cheap brushes and just tossed them every now and then. I also shook the can when I swapped the brushes, so it could have been one or the combo lol

Awesome car, I love to see builds that are local to me, I'm in Springfield too. Do you plan on running it at Rogersville or MoKan?

We got the trans in this weekend. We brough it in from under the car and it SUCKED. With the thicker bell housing and long arp bolts we BARELY got the bolts in by finger. Thankfully they turned enough to get a wrench on them. We are gonna cut holes in the firewall to provide better access to the bolts.

Next week the harness is done and goes back in. Hopefully its on the road soon!

Got my gauges in! Using a 10" tablet with MSDroid and RAM mounts to mount the tablet on the dash bar, I should have it mocked up Sunday.

Not the best lighting, and was also missing one piece to solid mount it, but this is where the tablet will be.

Got it mounted in the final spot. It turned our perfect!! Can't believe this whole setup cost only $170 total.

Off to the shop she goes for hood mounting, trans cooler, and intake pipe!

Well I got the shifter stuff in and got the car all wrapped up. She is going off to Sho Me to get things like the hood mounted, trans cooler, redo the exhaust bend to clear alt, brace the exhaust, intake pipe, etc

She is off to Sho Me Speed tomorrow morning! Time to get the small thins buttoned up.

I'm stuck after that, I need to decide if I want to build it for Drag radial and MW 8.5 class (convert to single turbo and ladder bar with stock frame) or backhalf it with a custom 9" and custom 4 link fitted around a 315 radial and run pro tree no box, no prep, and street. I'm leaning to backhalf.
