Default 1000+hp 5.3

A buddy and I are looking to build a competitive ultra street car. Car needs to go 5.00 or faster. I'm thinking we can do it with a turbo 5.3 but just kinda wonder what engine parts I should go with to make 1100-1200 hp...cylinders heads, cam, just looking for suggestions..can only run a cast wheel 76 turbo

Not a realistic goal imo
Only A few people have gone that fast with a 5.3

Don't think they were in real street trim though
The only one I can think of off hand is a fox with a big garret gt4788 running like 40lbs of boost on a concreted block

Shawn Byson ran 4.8x with a stock pistons/rods/crank 5.3 with a Hard Block filled aluminum block and ported 799 heads. Billet 88mm at 40 PSI.

It can be done with a dedicated setup. My problem is with the cast wheel 76mm. The only one I know of that will run a 5.0 is the one that Forced Inductions sells. 76mm inducer on the cast wheel but it has a huge exducer. That with a 96mm turbine and a race cover would get you your power goal. The rest is up to you.

Ok...what y'all think about this combo...370ci, AFR 245 heads and a custom cam for LJMS. Probably a Holley high ram. Gonna run the forced inductions 76mm turbo, unfortunately cast wheel...think that setup would be better for running the 5.00 or fast that I will need to do..car will also probably be running on m1

You'd need appx 1500 at the flywheel, maybe with a filled block, arp custom age studs and methanol you'll reach your goal

I just read the ultra street rules on the cappo racing website, and I didn't see it mention that you were restricted to only one turbo. It just says that all turbos must be as manufactured from the factory.

So run two cast wheel 76's.

Or the afr245 ls3 with lil Jon cam and holley high ram intake... Nobody's going to argue with that over a 5.3 junkyard motor.

I'd still run twin 76's on it, too, if you're allowed to.

Id want an lsx setup with 6 bolt heads and forged internals for a build like that personally for peace of mind

I can't help but think you could buy 5.3's ten times over or more for the price of the LSX block and internals. That's my plan anyways lol.

I call bullshit robert melcher made 877 rwhp on a 4.8 24 lb sbe before it blew john gilland has made 923 to the tire both gen 3 rod style motors so i'd bet my paycheck a 5.3 gen4 can clear 1000hp
