Right. The casting doesn't merge the pipe from the driver's side until it gets close to the collector.

The wastegate placement is much better as well.

It's the internet after all. But I agree.

This could be awesome for rx7 swapped cars. Especially the second generation with its huge engine bay.
I wish they would do a v-band on their header collectors tho, not sure why they stick with the 3-bolt flange.

Was there any info about a release date?
And are they going to offer it for sale with the crossover and the drivers side manifold?

Because car people are their own worst enemy. Almost as bad as gun owners.

The turbo manifold is. I'm talking about their swap headers, like the driver side, in the pics.

The drive's side manifold is a 2 bolt flange that is the same as 5th gen F-bodies. It is a simple design and uses a very nice MLS gasket. Nothing wrong with it.

Yeah, 2-bolt is what I meant. I didn't say anything was wrong with it. But for "swap" headers, why use a proprietary GM flange when a custom exhaust is most likely going to be built. V-band is way easier to mess with when welding (not the easiest thing to weld thin wall to a thick flange) and has no gasket.

The Hooker manifolds were designed for maximum width clearance. The 2 bolt flange actually offers more clearance that a V-band because you don't need the extra room to slip the v-band clamp over the flanges....

Just for the sake of argument, if you loosened the header from the head, you could slip the vband on just fine. Once in place, is there any dimensional space saving? I can't put a micrometer on pictures?

Depends what car/chassis and where your a/c compressor etc is.

And bolt on flanges are simple, nothing wrong with them.

V-bands can be convenient in some locations, and inconvenient in others same with flanges really.

Who wants to loosen the header flange to attach the merge pipe?!

From the side, it looks exactly like a typical Hooker cast manifold that has been modified. They probably used the one they were currently producing as a base.
