Default A/C idea for boosted set ups.........opinions

I posted this in the "Gen Maint" section, but its for my boosted set up, so its probably better here, and maybe someone here has tried this.

For those of you that have a lot of experience or are experts in A/C systems....

Do you think if I had a custom made condensor that is EXACTLY half the size as the factory condensor......made some new lines to fit....and added a 2,000 cfm fan onto it...

Do you think it would still allow the A/C to run cool, cut the cooling potential in half or less.......or would it be a total failure.....???

----How about if I kept 2/3rds of the condensor....just cutting 1/3rd of the top off....would that do ok?----

Thanks.

Should be fine if you have enough air flowing through it. You should have seen the tiny a$$ little condenser I had on a little japanese Suzuki Carry I had...literally the size of a dinner plate and it blew ice cold on a 100deg day.

Jon.
Thats good to hear.

So would you say a 13" x 13" condensor would work well...if it had this 13" x 13" 2,000 cfm fan on top of the condensor running full time....?

If it will work, this will solve all the problems with having not much room up front when standing up the radiator vertical.

OR...two 13" x 13" condensors stacked together, with that same 2,000cfm fan pushing air through them. Then it would be almost the same total area as a factory sized condensor.

I run a 14x16 universal style condenser with #8 and #6 fittings. it mounts flush to a standup radiator.

Just make sure you have a lot of fan if downsizing the condenser.

Do you think a 14 x 14 condensor with a 13 x 13 Deral 2,000cfm fan will be plenty of cooling airflow ......?

Check out Active interchiller they make full kits. Not for the f body as far as I know. However they sell universal kits ready to go and already proven on cts vs and late model camaros.

I'm not looking for a Killer Chiller type unit.....I don;t have an Air-to-Water intercooler.

I'm trying to get info on how much smaller I can make my A/C condensor....and still have it make very cool air conditioning inside the car.
