Default dynojet tuning a turbo car

can this be done effectivly? I cant think of a mustang dyno in this area, and the shop I use only has a dynojet. from what i've read its really hard to spool up a turbo on a dynojet because there is no real load put on the engine. Can you tune a turbo motor on a dynojet or should i try and find a place with a mustang dyno?

it depends how much your car weighs as to how close the tune will be dyno vs. street.

i believe the dynojet roller is 3,000#. since my car is heavier than that, it will spool faster on the street vs. the dyno.

You should try and find a place that can tune the car on an eddy-current dyno.

The mustang website has a dyno locator. You can try that, and you can also look on SuperFlo's website. I believe they also have a dyno locator although there is less likely of a chance finding one of those as they are significantly more expensive than mustang or dynojet.

Something else to consider, dynojet recently released and add on to their standard dyno so they can impose a load using an eddy-current setup.

FWIW the closest mustang dyno is 3 1/2 hrs from where I live .

Lugo had a mustang but I think he's out of business. I like Mustang dynos but you should be able to spool just fine on a dynojet. Give Norris a call.

You should be alright. Just work your way up in small increments, to be on the safe side

Why don't you get a wideband and tune it on the street. I use a freeway ramp by my house to get WOT in 2nd up to 80 mph. Widebands are getting really cheap now.

i plan on doing that eventually, but i've read that learning to tune on a FI car isnt the best idea.

drop the timing to 13 ....add a ton of fuel and start pulling fuel. Once you get it to around
10.9 start adding timing till you get knock...back off 2-3 degrees and start adding fuel....not very hard

When my cars on a dyno jet it freewheels the rollers and boost falls off.It drops from 15psi to 14psi But it holds a steady 15psi on the street.

MM how come your seems to run all over the place. I always see you posting it ran a high ten and then low tens and the you have a 9 sec pass in your sig. Are you still messing with the tuning or something?
