Default Serious Wastegate Help...am i mising something?

Take a look at these pics and see if you notice something...the valve in the wastegate looks like its 1/16" smaller than the body...ie air is coming out of it at idle when the car runs and it looks like theres no way it'd make boost cause of the space.Help

if it is a TIAL valve, you're missing the valve seat. Its a little ring piece that gets sandwiched between the valve and the mounting flange to seal that gap...

Looks like a turbosmart?? Maybe a Tial 44?

The valve seat is usually part of the weld flange for the pipe. The tial 38's have an insert, and the 46's have an extra flange that goes in between the gate and the weld flange. Not sure on the 44's, never played with one.

The 44 does also have the between flange.
