best cam
i have tryed the search but i have not found what i was looking for. my friend has a supercharged mustang with stage 1 cams. he said that the stage 3 cams have a lopey idle and produce alot of power. now my question, i am building a turbo 347 ci engine and want a cam that makes power and i can hear. i was told that the 110 to 112 lobe seperation is not going to make as much power as a 113 to 114 lobe seperation. i am running a t76 mm turbonetics set up front mount with intercooler. i am looking for 800 to 850 rwhp. this is not a daily driver so i am not worried about that. my last set up was a t-rex 410rwhp set up and i like the sound of the cam. so if anyone knows of a cam that is pleasing to the ear at idle and will make the power i want at 17 to 20 psi i would really appreciate it. the t-rex is for sale with 1000 miles on it and no 1/4 mile passes.

Well, I have the Comp SC2 which is a blower cam with the following specs:
226/234 .598/.599 117 LSA
You can definitely hear this cam.
With a turbo, you could afford more overlap, providing more natural power, since a turbo spools differently than a blower and it really wont affect your boost curve if you go with a 114 or 115.
One cam that might work well for you would be a custom-grind cam by Bob at ATi. It has similar specs to mine, but with a lower LSA. It would absolutley provide you with a mean cammed-out tone. Check out http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com/ and look at the cam used for their STS rear-mount kit, its the one I am talking about. They also have a clip of it running so you can hear it.
