big turbo-stock lt1
i have a 94 lt1 in my 70 chevelle and am in the process of putting a big turbo on it. my question is what parts need to be upgraded to last as a daily driver with 10 lbs on stock motor.can i get away with 1 255 fuelpump or will it need two? what about injector size? size on wastegate? is 2 1/2 piping on each side into turbo too big? should i go smaller for quicker spool? i have a small stall. and what about a cam what would be a good cam to help this turbo spool and make some decent power? thanks mako

The fox bodied 5.0 family came with a 9.x static compression ratio while the LT1 comes with very brittle 10.5 compression and a tiny combustion chamber volume of 54cc. The top ring land on the LT1 piston is fairly high too so the top ring land will crumble off fairly easily if you have too much cylinder pressure or detonation, both likely with 10 psi. THe crumbled piston shards will eat the turbine blades of your turbo on the way out too..

I'm not sure what difference that would indicate. You might have to measure them to actually know. The LT1 piston was designed with a smaller 'crevice' (area between the top of the first ring and the piston crown) to clean up emmision output so there is a chance your piston, what ever it is, could be beefier.
