Default MAF being placed in the FMIC piping???

I'm in the process of completing a custom FMIC system for my car and am having a little problem figuring out where to stick the MAF.

I'm looking for some suggestions and PLEASE, don't let your suggestion be "drop the MAF and switch to SD."

Coming up to the TB, there really is NO room in front of the engine where the pullies and alternator are. Based on how the piping is run, there really is no room on top of the engine just before the TB, so that really only leaves me room in the charge pipe down behind the radiator fans and air dam.

Would driving in wet weather cause a problem with the MAF? Maybe I could use a heat shield or air-filter shield around it??...Thanks fellas.

The standard STS kit I believe runs it in front of the engine, but I never saw an install by them on an SS, which has the extra coolant lines for the power steering, etc... I'm looking for a somewhat simple solution if anyone has one...the less fabricating right now, the better!
