Default More power with higher octane same tune?

I was wondering if my car is tuned for 91 octane and I went to the pump and filled up with 100 octane would it make more power without changing the tune? I would be running the same boost level. Thanks

without changing the tune, no. unless you are detonating already, you wont gain anything. although it would be a little safer.

most people run race gas and add timing or boost which adds power

that was what I thought. I am not gonna ever really add race gas so I am not paying more to tune for it. I was just wondering if adding 100 octane might squeeze out a couple more ponies. thanks.

If its not detonating it wont help at all, running 100 unleaded is cheap insurance at dyno/dragstrip time though..

Wouldnt better fuel, with perhaps more oxygen in it ( or whatever also goes into fuels lol ), offer some power benefits, simply because its a better fuel though ?

All 91 octane fuels etc are not the same ? Octane is only one aspect.

Highly oxygenated fuel like VP import would gain some power, but you have to run more fuel to do it so it wouldnt be the same tune.

But pump gas can vary load by load, you have specific gravity, flash points, all kinds of things that come into play. Not to mention 'exotic' chemicals you can pour in there to make more power without raising octane but wouldnt pass a fuel check at a racing event. But just raising octane (anti-knock) doesnt increase power on its own.
