Default Iron 370 or Aluminum 347????

I am about to start on the motor for my single t76 turbo mustang, and I don't know which engine to build. I have a 02 LS1 and a iron 6.0 that I can build. The car is going to be a 90% street car, and I'm wanting 600 to 650 at the wheels. I already have a t76gts, 317 heads and, a victor jr with an elbow and an accufab 90mm tb. Let me know your opinions.

iron will keep your underhood temps very hot, and it puts weight on the front end. a forged 346 will make 650 easy at 12-14 lbs.

ditch the victor jr manifold and go with a ls6, its a waste of money.

plenty of people have not had fueling issues with the ls6. keep you setup simple and go with what has been PROVEN already.

makes no sense to buy a manifold that will make you lose torque and hp that just looks nice.

stay aluminum 347 -- the weight advantage will overcome any horsepower advantage the iron 370 gives you. its 80+ lbs on the nose hard to overcome.

We have used the aluminum block on many builds. This C5 is making 740 rwhp and is used on a roadcourse. http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com...Car.php?car=40 Bob

I'm gonna agree with Bob, use the aluminum block on this one. If you were going for the 1000+ HP mark in a track car it'd be another story.
