TT setup q....
What do ya'll think about set(twin) of t3/t4 hybrids:
COMPRESSOR: 45 trim wheel, 0.42 a/r housing, 2.5" inlet, 2" outlet
center section: oil cooled chra
TURBINE: 1.32a/r P trim wheel
T4 Flange
This would be for a stock block LS1 setup for mostly the street.
I know most twins I see have a .48 ar compressor housing but I don't think .06 difference will make that much of a difference. These are garrett turbos. Im just looking for 500-600hp to the ground, with quick spool.

i dont believe 1.32 will give you the quick spool your looking for. I also think that .48 on the compressor is too small. I am not 100% certain however. I would suggest maybe around a .60 on the comp and .63 on the turbine. Mine are .60 on the comp and .48 on the turbine for my 346 and street application. Hope this helps!

What about .60 A/R compressor side and a 1.0 A/R exhaust side or is that more suitable for a single turbo setup? Or is the compressor side to small for a single turbo setup?
I can't seem to find any turbos with the a/r you specified..what type do you have and/or recommend with those specs?

Mine are Garrett's as well. I think 1 is still too big. I know TTi used .82's on their turbines for their bigger twin kits for the vettes. i would look at a .63 if you want some quicker spool. I dont know too much about turbos, i would give the pro's a call tomorrow.

85irocinjected, What are you REALLY wanting to do, a single or twin???.... the reason I'm asking is because... you stated on your other thread that you were planning on going single and then eventually go twins, and then you stated that you're going to buy a Turbonetics T-76.... . I'm just trying to figure out what you're really wanting to do, or maybe I'm just missing something?!

I originally wanted to go single (so I don't have to buy another expensive a** turbo) but I am seeing alot of people state that the single turbo 70-76 setup won't start to spool 'till around 3500 and they are not the very good for street cars (compared to TT setups). What Im reading is that a TT setup is best for the street because of quick spool dues to smaller turbos. I guess I am getting mixed messages from everything Im reading. All Im trying to accomplish is a STRONG, quick daily driver street car with around 5-600 hp to the ground without having to spin the motor to 6k to get full boost which for me will be around 5-6psi. (STOCK BLOCK for now). I don't really want to spin my motor past 6-6200rpm.
So please someone help point me in the right direction using your experience not theory.

If you want to use twins, you probably want a T3/T4 "hybrid." That's a T3 based exhaust side and a T4 based compressor side.
A "T4" turbo is bigger than a "T3" and is better suited to pump more air and create more horsepower. A T3/T4 turbo has a smaller turbine side that will give you the ability to generate boost at lower RPMs. The compressor stays at a T4 size and will let you pump more air.
You probably already know this, but I am just throwing it out there!
