Default eBay flanges vs. StainlessWorks flanges

I am trying to order some flanges for my uppipe and started pricing out flanges. It seems like the ones on stainlessworks.net are much more expensive and thinner than ones offered on eBay. For instance

T3 - 3/8" thick 304 stainless flange from stainlessworks is $57
T3 - 1/2" thick 304 stainless flange from eBay is $14

The eBay add says it's CNC machined. Why are the stainlessworks ones so much more money? Are they different, or that much better?

Anybody have good luck with the stainless eBay flanges?

Thanks, -Dave

My buddy bought a set off ebay and they were about that price. They were laser cut and not CNC'd.. They work just fine, just not as pretty as a CNC'd piece..

Stainlessworks makes pimp parts and nice quality cuts and stuff.. The ebay flanges work fine though.. It's all up to you...

I know exactly what CNC machining is, but what is “laser cut?” Do they literally use a laser to cut the steel?

"Laser cut" Does mean exactly that. it is cut by using a laser. the down fall to that is the heat can warp the metal and it leaves a nasty burr. i run several CNC machines and a laser and waterjet machine. i think the waterjet makes a better cut on metals it just takes a lil bit longer.

Cool, I think he is the one I was looking at on eBay. Glad to hear that you had good experience with them. I am going to buy the flanges right after I buy some turbos...
