Default ice box install

i just recently upgraded the a vortech i box for my superchargerkit. the original cooling came from a rad that ran water through it. when i upgraded to the larger tank that can hold ice i thought that it would just replace the smaller filler tank and everything else in the colling system would stay the same. but the preformance shop i brought it to sai to take out the rad and just run the little pump from the ice box...to the water to air cooler on the supercharger. i just wanted to know if this is the right way. should i take the rad (heat exchanger)out and do it the way the shop i brouht it to is saying or should i do it my way?

If you drive your truck on the street, I'd leave the heat exchanger there.
