Default ls1 347 or ls2 364 for procharger?

im in the market for a forged motor and im on the fence between the two. with a d1sc head unit is there any cons and pros between the 2? ive searched but i cant come across any 364 aluminum procharged builds. its seems there price would be close with the ls2 being a little more do to the covers and extensions i need to get. id love to get a 402 but im concerned with longetivity do to the increase stroke ad possible oil control issues ive read about? i dont want iron due to the weight and the missing bolt hole for the alternator.(procharger bracket) any ideas? thanks

The LS2 block is generally regarded as being stronger than the LS1 and LS6 blocks. A 402 will make a lot of power, but will max a D-1SC out. If you are going to stay with a D-1SC, I would use an LS2 block with the stock crank stroke. Bob

thanks bob, you havent done any installs on any ls2 goats or c6's have you? does the larger bore or small increase of displacement make stronger numbers or does the little 347 hold its own?

I was on the fence about it for a while. I have had great luck with the 347, granted I dont push it very hard but its taken two years of beating on and makes plenty of power with the D1SC. But I'm going to replace it with a LS2 block/stock crank soon, I'm curious to see how much it changes things but I dont think its going to make a significant power difference. We'll see though, I'm making approx 2.3hrwp per cubic inch so 18 cubic inches will get me 41whhp in theory. Find out soon enough.

I am planning the exact same build. Forged stock cube LS2 with 317's and my LS6 intake.

Should have something similar. Going 402 but with an F series Procharger or a Turbo. Excellent success here with the 347, but took awhile to finally get her dialed in. Runs mid nines @ 3600lbs with very little maintenance.

Kp's setup is just sick. Car fles!
