I got tired of running in the 11's because of traction problems. I ordered a set of the M/T 17" E.T. streets and stuck them on my widened WS6 rims (11"), The tires say they are 11.5" wide but they look very thin on the 11" wheels. They say they fit 9,10 or11" wheels. I'm going to stick them on my spare set of factory WS6 wheels so that I can switch back and forth and keep my M/T 315 drag radials as my street tire.
Here's the excuses as to why a 429 with a YSi isn't faster. Everybody builds their car to their own personal specs.. It is a full weight convertible + the blower stuff. I want a stock idle so it has a 214/224 cam. That alone is probably holding me back the most. I also want to appear like a stock WS6 at the track so I run with the stock 17" wheels. I have nothing changed from stock under the car except the torque arm relocation trans. mount. The arm was distorting and about to rip out of the factory piece. I did modify the mount so I could transfer the rubber mounting pieces (I hate the vibration feedback that poly gives you). I have a 2600 stall (again because I like a stock driving car). I had a 1.71 60' rolling into it from idle. I did try to stab it on one run and spun (10.91, 1.89 60'). Anyway I'm happy to get what I feel is close to her optimum run at this point. If I did get a dead hook I think she's got a 10.50 in her. I may add a little spray in the future and try to get near a 140 trap and low 10's. The race car is about done (really just needs to be painted now) so we'll be out with it this spring.
