Yep, another cam ?. Z06 vs. 224's
OK, in a supercharged application, what's the benefit of the standard 224/224 cams on the market versus a 02 Z06 cam?
Zo6- 218/204 DURATION AT .050
.550/.550 LIFT
117.5 LOBE SEPERATION
Typical comp 224:
224/224
581 lift
112 lsa
Here's my take- The Z06 is shorter duration and lower lift so won't allow as much air in during the intake stroke. However the LSA doesn't bleed off as much compression.
The 224 will have a more lumpy idle due to the 112LSA, but I'm wondering how much extra power (and were it comes on) does the extra .03" lift and slightly longer duration get ya.
